FAQs

  • Do you need to undertake a trial first?

No you don't need a trial to attend. All our football training courses are delivered in an open learning environment, so as to fully engage different levels of ability. This allows each individual to progress at their own pace.

  • What qualifications do your coaches have?

The qualifications and experience of our staff makes our academy unique; all staff members are UEFA/ FA -qualified, and the majority of our coaching team members are current or ex-playing professionals. Quite simply, no other academy can rival us!

  • Are all staff members CRB checked?

All our staff members have had security checks completed by the Criminal Records Bureau and AIM, plus we also follow the FA Charter Standard. WAYF Soccer Academy is committed to the safety and welfare of all players participating in our courses, and we have a Child Protection Policy in place that is rigorously adhered to. We also provide a qualified physiotherapist and teacher, who look after nutrition and sports psychology

  • Is there a possibility of being scouted?

This is where our academy is unique! Not only do we deliver a programme that enables any player of any level to develop - we will also help create a career pathway for any player who stands out through natural playing ability. Many of our staff members are Premier League scouts and talent identification consultants who have direct contact with several of the biggest clubs in the UK and other teams worldwide, so they are in an excellent position to channel young footballing talent in the right direction.

  • Will I become a better player?

The entire ethos of WAYF Academy is to provide the perfect training environment through recourse to the best coaches, the latest equipment and five-star facilities. All players will receive player feedback, and will be measured in accordance with Key Performance Indicators and player development diaries. Each player will also be skill-tested in five individual areas, and their score will be recorded and compared to academy players’ scores. This provides a great benchmark system for new young players, demonstrating to them what they need to know in order to maximise performance.

  • Will children be fully supervised when attending the courses?

Yes - we'll ensure that your child will be fully supervised throughout the duration of the training programme - and on our non-residential courses, parents are welcome to stay and watch training sessions from designated spectator areas. Residential courses have a specific age criteria but all players will be placed in groups of the same age. The first session of every course is focused on making new friends, and these "ice-breaker" sessions are designed to help individuals integrate to form a team.

  • How do I book and pay?

Simply complete and submit the online application form on our website or contact the booking line, which will be available prior to the courses dates and venue being posted on our website. You can also e-mail us direct and we can arrange to call you back to take bookings and payment.
